Arsenal Transfers: 10 Players Wenger Must Buy To Catch Chelsea
1. Edinson Cavani (PSG)
Make no mistake - this would be one expensive signing. The Uruguay man joined PSG for a fee believed to be €64.5 million back in 2013, and the French club would want a significant chunk of that back if he were to leave.
Is Cavani worth the money? You'd have to assume so. The 28 year-old has averaged more than a goal every other game at both Napoli and PSG, and seems built for the Premier League. His height, running power, technique and eye for goal make him one of the game's few complete forwards, and you would imagine he would have no problem adjusting to the physical nature of England's top flight.
Should Zlatan Ibrahimovic stay with the French champions, Cavani may pursue a move elsewhere rather than being deployed as a winger as he was last season. Arsenal could really show their title ambitions by getting the Uruguayan on board, and he could just be the man to take the North London club to the next level. Do they have the ambition and wage budget for this move? That remains to be seen.
