8. Raul Albiol

Raul Albiol is a versatile player. He may prefer to play as a centre back he is adept at playing as the anchor man in midfield and can do a job at right back. Like Vermaelen and Koscielny he is only 26 so still has his best years ahead of him. Currently at Real Madrid he has found himself on the outside looking in under Mourinho's reign. After three years in the Spanish capital he has only played 92 games for Los Blancos and only 17 last season. He finds himself behind Ramos, Pepe, Carvalho and Varane in the pecking order with no chance of it changing. Capped 34 times for Spain he has no hope of breaking back into his national team if he continues to sit on the bench. He is comfortable with the ball at his feet, unshakeable in the air and strong in the challenge. As he is almost surely surplus to requirements in Madrid he would not command a big fee. He is not making Galactico money either so his wage demands wouldn't cripple Wenger's stringent budget.
