Arsenal Transfers: 10 Players Wenger Must Sign To Secure Title

3. Troy Deeney (Watford)

In striking positions, Arsenal don't appear to have too many options at their disposal. It's true that the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil can be lethal in advanced areas, but they're not out-and-out strikers. When analysing the first team, Arsenal only really have a handful of options. Olivier Giroud is the most prominent, joined by the injured Danny Welbeck and occasionally Theo Walcott. More is needed up front if Arsenal are going to have that killer edge to win the title this season. One proposed option is Troy Deeney, who has been banging them in for Watford this year. Arsene Wenger has told the press that they are making things up by reporting that Arsenal will splash £20 million on the Englishman in January, but the gaffer should at least take a look at Deeney's scoring record despite claims that the media were fabricating stories. Since joining Watford in 2010, he has netted 83 times. He has scored 6 times in the league this season for the club, something which would surely increase were he offered the chances that Arsenal's midfielders and wide men help create. Deeney also seems deceptively skillful for a large man, and he'd be a shrewd target if Arsenal can get him at the right price.
