Christian Benteke emerged as a top transfer target for Arsenal last summer and even handed in a transfer request to force through a move, but backtracked and stayed at Aston Villa. And now, the Gunners, along with Tottenham and Liverpool, have reignited their interest despite the fact the forward is currently out with a World Cup-ending injury. Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner has told manager Paul Lambert that any new transfers coming into Villa Park this summer must be offset by player sales, meaning the Villans could be tempted to cash in on Benteke to fund moves for new additions. The Belgian scored 23 goals in his debut season in the Premier League in 2012-13 and though he endured a disappointing campaign last season, remains on Arsenal's wishlist. However, Villa have issued a hands-off warning to any interested parties, insisting the striker is not for sale. Will their resolve to hang on to Benteke be put to the test this summer?
