Arsenal Transfers: 10 Worst Arsene Wenger Signings Ever
3. Mikael Silvestre
Looking back at his brief time with the Gunners, would Arsenal fans be surprised if Mikael Silvestre was really just sent to Arsenal from Manchester United to deliver shockingly bad performances for the Gunners?
Just because the French man has a Champions League medal and several other trophies to his name doesn't mean he wasn't a pretty poor defender.
Sure he had his moments where he looked like a half decent squad player, but he also had a weird, dangerous streak in him that made it seems that at any moment he could flip out and kill someone on the pitch. Plus, when he came to North London he was more than past his prime and had lost at least a yard of pace.
Of course, you could say that he came over as a free transfer at a time where the team had barely any funds, and that beggars really can't be choosers, but for him to play 43 games in two seasons is not the type of thing you want to see for a team with title aspirations.
