Arsenal Transfers: 5 Better Alternatives To Luis Suarez

2. Gonzalo Higuain

GonzaloHiguain The prospect of seeing Fernando Torres and Gonzalo Higuain lining up for Arsenal next season certainly is an intriguing one - two former La Liga stars leading the forward line for the Gunners. Amazingly, a deal for Higuain has yet to be completed. Despite negotiations seemingly dragging on for months, and frequent claims that the transfer "is close to completion", Real Madrid have mysteriously suggested they have yet to receive an offer from the Gunners for the 25-year-old. That is in spite of claims Higuain was in London recently to discuss terms over a move to the Emirates, and various other reports claiming a move was "imminent". This latest twist in the transfer saga is perplexing, and Real have even suggested they don't want to sell the Argentina international. Whatever the case, Higuain would be a terrific signing if and when he ever finally completed his much-protracted Arsenal move. He has scored 122 goals in 266 appearances for Madrid since his move from River Plate in 2006, and only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have been as prolific in front of goal in that time.
