Arsenal Transfers: 5 Deals That Definitely Won't Happen

2. Fernando Llorente

Llorente The Athletic Bilbao striker is out of contract in June and is free to speak to and sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club during this transfer window. He has also rejected the offer of a new deal with the Basque side, which has pricked the interest of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger,* particularly due to the fact that he could be available on a free transfer. (He always has liked a good bargain, has Wenger). Due to the aforementioned absentee's in the striking department at the Emirates, Wenger does need a new forward, and Llorente's 115 goals in 317 appearances had made him a prime target for the Gunners. Unfortunately, Italian Champions Juventus are set to hold talks with the 27-year old** and it looks as though Arsenal are going to miss out. Source(s): * Daily Mail, ** BBC
