Arsenal Transfers: 5 Forwards To Sign Now Fernando Llorente Is Unavailable

1. David Villa

Arsenal will reportedly step up their pursuit of Barcelona€™s David Villa this week as Arsene Wenger seeks to add one new striker before the transfer window closes on Thursday. Villa has been near the top of Wenger's January wishlist but any move for the player seems to have hit a variety of snags of late, such as the asking price coupled with his club's apparent unwillingness to sell. Wenger has been quoted £10 million* for the player, with the La Liga leaders unlikely to entertain an offer of anything less. Wenger has been put off by the player's quoted market value considering he is 31 and has just returned from a lengthy injury lay-off. However, Villa could break Barcelona's resolve by demanding to be sold this month, and has reportedly told coach Tito Vilanova that he wants out.** Source(s): * Metro, ** Daily MailArsenal Fans: Do you think Arsene Wenger should sign another striker?
