Ramsey was once considered to be as promising an upcoming prospect as Jack Wilshere, but injuries have badly set back the Welshman, and the signing of Mikel Arteta seemed a reflection of Arsene Wenger's opinion on the player last season. Unfortunately for Ramsey, his time might well be coming to an end at The Emirates, and Arsene Wenger needs to stengthen his midfield options, particularly in deeper lying positions. That short-fall should have been dealt with in this window, given the pressing need for Arsene Wenger to win some silverware this season, but chances are any incoming player would potentially cost a problematic amount of money.
