Arsenal Transfers: 5 Reasons Why Arsene Wenger Still Failed This Summer

1. Still No New Striker

Good news, Arsenal fans - Nicklas Bendtner is staying! Okay, maybe that's not quite news worthy of party poppers, streamers and a big cake. The misfit Danish international is only sticking around at Emirates Stadium after Crystal Palace refused to have him and the Gunners failed to land a new striker. The Londoners missed out on David Villa, Stevan Jovetic and Luis Suarez this summer and were also unsuccessful in landing Demba Ba on loan from Chelsea. Which leaves them with just Bendtner, Olivier Giroud, Yaya Sanogo and Chuba Akpom as the club's only recognised strikers. Wenger's failure or inability to land a new striker is even more baffling when you take into account the fact Lukas Podolski is out until December with a hamstring injury. Best hope Ozil starts scoring more goals, then... Did Arsene Wenger still fail this summer despite landing Mesut Ozil? Let us know in the comment section, below.
