Arsenal Transfers: 5 Signings Arsene Wenger Needs To Avoid Disaster

1. Michu

Arsenal still haven't adequately replaced Robin van Persie up front following the Dutchman's move to Manchester United and this is an issue that Wenger is evidently acutely aware of. In fairness to the Frenchman, he has been trying to land Luis Suarez this summer and the Uruguayan, who finished as runner up to Van Persie in the goal-scoring charts last season, would have been a terrific addition to the squad. Would have been. Today, we reported that the 26-year-old is set to stay at Anfield after a summer of flirting with Arsenal. And that's a big blow to the Gunners who have already missed out on Gonzalo Higuain, David Villa and Stevan Jovetic. And one alternative to Suarez this summer could be Swansea's Michu. Michu was the fifth-highest goalscorer in the Premier League last season behind Van Persie, Suarez, Gareth Bale and Christian Benteke, and enjoyed a terrific debut in England's top flight, scoring 18 league goals in 35 appearances. And the goal-machine could be exactly the type of player Arsenal are looking for this summer. Are Arsenal headed for disaster after a summer of inactivity in the transfer window? Who does Arsene Wenger need to sign? Let us know in the comment section, below.
