2. Luiz Gustavo
As well as in goal, at centre-back and on the wings, Arsenal are also lacking a defensive midfielder. Alex Song filled this role with a modicum of success before his transfer to Barcelona last summer and since then the Gunner's midfield has looked lightweight and has lacked steel. And one player who could help Arsenal in those regards is Bayern Munich's out-of-favour Luiz Gustavo. Gustavo played second fiddle to Javi Martinez at the Allianz Arena last term and, after making just 22 Bundesliga appearances, looks to be on his way. The Gunners are favourites for the star's signature this summer with Wenger zeroing in on a
£14 million deal for the Brazilian. And Wenger hopes to have signed the Bayern man in time for the resumption of the Premier League this weekend.
