Arsenal Transfers: 6 Failed Deals Wenger Should Revive In Summer

2. Alvaro Morata

Although probably not the most well-known footballer on the list, Alvaro Morata is definitely one to watch. The 21-year old, six-foot-three striker has a presence that is matched by few, when he steps onto the field. The striker's ability to hold up the ball, whilst having the mind-set to clinically finish, has even drawn comparisons to Spanish legend Fernando Morientes. Arsenal attempted to grab the young Spaniard on loan in January to solve an injury crisis, but the deal was unsuccessful as they merely ran out of time. Morata would pose a much-needed aerial addition to the arsenal attack, and, as he is not yet in the starting XI at Real Madrid, he could come at a good price. Morata has been referred to as the future of Spanish football, and with Wenger keen to invest in up and coming players, Morata seems like an obvious step forward. Not to mention that he would feel at home with Arsenal's possession-based playing style, as Morata has come up through a Spanish youth system famed for their stylish possession. The Spaniard would add a much needed flare and size to the Arsenal front line, with the ability to fit in capably. Morata seems like a must buy for Wenger, be it this season or the next.
