Arsenal Transfers: 8 Late Deadline Day Deals Arsene Wenger Could Do

5. Mathieu Debuchy OUT

All-in-all, Mathieu Debuchy's decision to move to Arsenal from Newcastle has proved to be pretty foolish: by his own admission he's wasted a significant chunk of his career when he should be enjoying his peak years. He's been linked with a move away from the Emirates all winter and while Arsene Wenger doesn't seem overly enthusiastic of his chances of selling the Frenchman, there's a possibility of a temporary move:
€œAt the moment it doesn€™t look like it, but it€™s a possibility. It€™s impossible to do permanent deal now.€
Meanwhile, Sunderland have been linked with a fresh bid for the player by Sky Sports:
€œSunderland made an enquiry over the possibility Mathieu Debuchy coming in on loan, but no movements on that yet. €œOne player that won€™t be going is Steven Fletcher, who has attracted interest from abroad, the Premier League and Scotland. With the transfer window coming to a close, there is no time to bring in a replacement, so it is likely Fletcher will stay.€
And the Mirror have linked Man Utd with a surprising late bid for his services to ease their own defensive crisis.
