4. Ashley Williams
The Gunners have been crying out for a new centre-back for years and Ashley Williams could be just the ticket. The centre-half position has been a notorious area of weakness for Arsenal for quite some time and a series of dubious additions have been brought in over the years to fill it, such as Sébastien Squillaci, who recently ended his ill-fated spell at the Emirates. Williams meanwhile has been steadily working his way up at Swansea and had played almost every minute of every league game for the last three seasons by the end of the 200910 campaign. His hard-working attitude paid dividends when he lifted the Capital One Cup with the Welsh side earlier this year and succeeded from Garry Monk as captain last month. Arsenal need a leader and though Williams has just penned a new contract at the Liberty Stadium, the 28-year-old could be tempted by one last big career move that would see him play regular Champions League football this season.
