Arsenal Vs Stoke: Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups
With both teams in impressive form since opening day defeats, Sunday's encounter at the Emirates promises to be a close encounter. It will be the first opportunity for the home side to see their new star signing, Mesut Ozil, in the flesh and most will be expecting another three points. Although, following a tough encounter at the Stade Velodrome they may find Stoke a tough nut to crack. It is common knowledge these two teams are not exactly the best of friends with a difference in football ideologies culminating in Ryan Shawcross's rather agricultural challenge braking Aaron Ramsey's leg in 2010. However, with Mark Hughes having taken over from Tony Pulis the Potters have started to change their playing style without losing any of their robust, they shall not pass attitude. The fore mentioned Ramsey has been Arsenal's star man since season with some all action performances highlighted with six goals already his best for a season. With Ozil, Wilshire, Giroud and Walcott adding to this the Gunners have plenty of optimism for the coming months. Hughes, after some initial scepticism, seems to have won over both the players and fans with Stoke's positive start and will be looking to continue this Sunday. Having narrowly failed to beat Manchester City last time out they will come to North London with no fear and I expect them to have a much more positive outlook than previous visits. Kenwyne Jones looks to have had a new lease of life under the new regime and his aerial prowess may cause the Gunners defence some problems if Etherington and Walters can give him the right supply. Having said that and allowing for Champions League fatigue I expect Arsenal to continue their winning run coming out on top 2-1. Likely Line-ups: Arsenal Arsene Wenger is expected to stick with his conventional 4-3-3 formation. Schezney Sanga, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs Flamini, Ramsey, Wilshere Walcott, Giroud, Ozil Stoke Expected to keep the same side that drew with Manchester City Begovic, Cameron, Shawcross, Huth, Pieters, Wilson, Nzonzi, Adam Walters, Etherington, Jones
