Arsenal's 10 Most Hated Players

8. Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas - adored by Arsenal fans, deplored by Manchester United supporters. In 2004, Arsenal's 49-game undefeated streak was ended by a 2-0 defeat to the red Devils at Old Trafford and cued scenes of acrimony. Players from both sides clashed with each other both on and off the pitch at full-time, and managers Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson were hauled into a heated war of words.

After the full-time whistle had blown on a controversial match marred by dubious officiating, Sol Campbell refused to shake Rooney€™s hand, and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger called Ruud van Nistelrooy a cheat as he headed to the dressing room. A furious Ferguson then came out to confront the Frenchman over his comments, only to be pelted with pizza by Fabregas.

The incident ensured United fans reviled the Spaniard for attacking their beloved manager and further deepened the rift between Ferguson and Wenger, which took five years to heal. The midfielder's childish actions had huge ramifications and hostilities between the two clubs wouldn't truly abate until 2009.
