Lauren arrived at Arsenal in 2000 from Spanish club Mallorca, and though he predominantly played at right-back, he could also play on the wing when needed. The Cameroon international played his 150th Arsenal game during their unbeaten run, and went on to make 242 appearances for the club.

After Arsenal

He had spells with both Portsmouth and Cordoba after he left Arsenal in 2006, and eventually retired in 2010.

The Cameroonian now occasionally appears on Sky Sports' Spanish football show Revista de la Liga as a pundit alongside journalist Guillem Balague. He has also worked for ITV, covering the African Cup of Nations in 2012.

Alongside football, Lauren also grew up with a keen interest in boxing, and has taken up the sport as a hobby - often sparring and training near his home in Seville.
