Kevin Pietersen is another one of those experienced batsman that fans expect an awful lot from, and if England are to win this series then it's likely that Pietersen will play a significant role. The South African born player has certainly registered some high scores against Australia in the past throughout his international career. In fact, this year he scored 113 against the Australians in Manchester during the previous Ashes series. Obviously, the top order is very important when it comes to overall battling performance, but if England's openers do fail then the form of Pietersen and Bell as well as their ability to get big scores is going to be very important.
