Fulham's torrid campaign last season did at least have one benefit. A squad overhaul meant that youth was given a chance and the 18-year-old Christensen certainly impressed. Christensen adapted to the first team nicely during the 2014/15, scoring 5 goals and recording 7 assists in the in 24 Championship appearances. Villa were actually linked with the midfielder in January and even described in this Mirror article as a potential replacement for Delph, so it seems the Dane is clearly on the club's radar, although he could be one for Villa's future rather than a first-team regular. With the likes of Gardner who is back at Villa after a loan spell at Nottingham Forest and newly-signed Gueye joining the ranks, Villa aren't necessarily short of midfield numbers, but having considered some possible options in this feature it's clear that further additions could be wise as the club looks to avoid a relegation battle.
