Sports Mole sources are claiming that one of Barcelona's top summer transfer targets is set to knock back a move to the Camp Nou in favour of staying put at Atlético Madrid.

Antoine Griezmann, who scored 29 goals in 49 appearances for the club last season, is currently on World Cup duty with France. Once he returned from international duty, the 27-year old striker was expected to trade Atlético for Barca in a sensational £87 million move.

Now, rumours are rife that Griezmann will turn down the Catalan giants and ink a new contract with Diego Simeone's side instead. The player's great relationship with his manager is said to be a key factor in this change of heart, and Simeone has reportedly assured Griezmann that Atlético will gun for the La Liga title next campaign.

There's still time for things to change. Barcelona are one of the most powerful names in world football, so it'd be quite brave of any player to turn them down flat. It's intriguing then to learn that Griezmann intends to do just that before jetting off to Russia for the World Cup.
