Bayer Leverkusen vs Man Utd - How Red Devils Should Line Up

Winger - Antonio Valencia

With Nani and Ashley Young suffering from drastic dips in form, it has been Antonio Valencia who has stepped into the breech over the last few weeks, playing in all of United's last three games. His goal against Fulham earlier this month signalled a return to form having suffered from inconsistency himself, and now, he's the first name on the team-sheet when it comes to the wide areas. Perhaps that says a lot about the current state of affairs in United's midfield, with Shinji Kagawa out with a foot injury, Wilfried Zaha probably heading out on loan and Adnan Januzaj lacking in experience for matches such as these, but nothing should be taken away from the hard-working Ecuadorian. He's certainly a better option than Young and Nani at present, two players who must surely be staring at the prospect of playing their football elsewhere from January.
