With Manchester United needing a win over Bayer Leverkusen in order to secure passage to the final stages of the Champions League, the return of Robin van Persie is perfectly timed. The Dutchman picked up a groin injury against Arsenal and pulled out of Holland's subsequent international break, but is in line to return on Wednesday. van Persie has typically been United's form player this season - with 10 goals he is the club's top scorer so far this season, having scored in four consecutive matches prior to injury. The cutting edge he brings to the side was badly missed against Cardiff when United needed to put the game to bed and his return to fitness will be welcomed with open arms.
