Bayer Leverkusen vs Man Utd - How Red Devils Should Line Up

Winger - Danny Welbeck

Danny Welbeck is back in contention after his knee injury turned out to have been not as serious as first feared. The England international had to pull out of the friendlies versus Chile and Germany this month amid speculation he may require surgery. Happily, that has not been the case with the striker coming off the bench for a 20-minute cameo against Cardiff on Sunday, while he could be called back into action on Wednesday. United definitely miss something when Welbeck isn't in the side and with wingers such as Nani and Ashley Young well and truly off the boil, his return to the Red Devil's set-up comes at precisely the right time. Critics say he doesn't score enough goals but he works hard, both in possession of the ball and off it, and has shown to play effectively on the flanks in the past.
