Bayern Munich 2-3 Man City: Champions League Player Ratings

Thomas Muller: Took the opening goal really well. Superb chest down, pacy run and clinical finish. Bayern often overloaded his flank, but remains a thorn in the side of England and Premier League clubs. 6.5/10.

Mario Gotze: Tapped in Munich's second, but did little else in the match. Like Thiago you feel it will still take a little longer for him to really bed in. Subbed early in the second half. 5.5/10.

Toni Kroos: Versatile Bayern man drifted in and out of the game. Corner deliveries are always decent. Was expecting a little more from him. 5/10.

Franck Ribery: Won the corner that led to second goal. Still goes down too easy under challenges, but used all his experience to draw the fouls. Drifting all over the place and gave both City right backs a tough test. Not quite Ballon d'Or winning form from the Frenchman though. 6/10.

Mario Mandzukic: Helped Gotze score the second goal, but subbed midway through the second half after an otherwise quiet showing. Matched in the air by former teammate Demichelis and Lescott. Easy to see why Guardiola sometimes favours a false nine. 5/10.

Subs: Javi Martinez: Give 35 minutes by Guardiola, but just to simply hold. Like Thiago before him found it tough to handle Spanish teammate Silva. 4.5/10.

Xherdan Shaqiri: Came on in place of Mandzukic for the final quarter. Rating N/A.
