Best Premier League XI Ever

Yeah, definitely not the most likeable bunch, this lot. However, when he wasn’t having an affair with his brother’s wife, Ryan Giggs was winning title after title with Man Utd.

Giggs has the second most appearances ever, beaten only by Gareth Barry who - let’s be honest - was getting nowhere near this team. He’s also top of the assists charts and despite never being a prolific scorer, managed to notch 109 goals thanks to his longevity.

His most famous goal came against Arsenal in 1999, although that came in the FA Cup, not the league.

Even without that, Giggs was a crucial part of so many legendary Man Utd squads over the years. First, as one of the kids you’ll win nothing with, then as a key player in the side which dominated the early ‘00s, and finally as an elder statesman towards the end of his career.

An out and out wide man with a killer cross, Giggs made it impossible to pick anyone else.

Gareth Bale, Robert Pires and David Beckham are probably the three standout also rans for left and right, but of the more advanced 4-3-3 style wingers you’d have to throw Eden Hazard and Gianfranco Zola in there too. If they keep their current form up, Mo Salah and Raheem Sterling will be in the conversation before long as well.
