Cardiff New Manager: 5 Replacements For Malky Mackay

4. Dave Jones

Dave Jones has unfinished business with Cardiff after being sacked by the Welsh club back in 2011. The 57-year-old took charge of the Bluebirds for six years between 2005-11, eventually being axed and replaced by none other than Malky Mackay - could we be set for a case of role-reversal? Jones has been installed high in the betting as bookmakers cut his odds of returning to the helm at Cardiff City Stadium to 14/1, making him sixth-favourite for the job according to StanJames. The Liverpudlian was sacked recently by Sheffield Wednesday and is once more a free agent, and while any come-back may have seemed unlikely two years ago, when Jones took legal action against Vincent Tan after being sacked, the two are said to get along much better these days. Jones still has a house in the Vale, which is but a short drive from the Bluebirds€™ training ground, and would find any offer to return difficult to refuse, should Tan offer him a role.
