Celtic Transfers: 5 Strikers Lennon Could Buy For £6 Million Or Less

3. Alfred Finnbogason

This is the name that is on the end of every single Celtic fan's lips at the moment. Finnbogason plays for Dutch side Heerenveen, and he has been in lightening form for them this season. He is the top scorer in the dutch Eredivisie so far, scoring 17 goals in 15 games this season - accumulating over a goal a game. As it's going, it looks like he is going surpass his total 24 from last season - another impressive goal stat for the 23 year old. As well as his eye for goal, Alfred's positional '6th sense' is what does half the job for him, he knows where and when to run onto the final ball. Along with this he has quite good pace and strength, although the latter would definitely be tested more if he joins us in the Scottish Premiership. Alfred was linked with Celtic previously in the summer, but it's fair to say that we've been teased a lot with the speculation. Heerenveen have told Celtic multiple times that they are willing to sell him for a price around £5 million. Annoyingly though, it seems that when Celtic come knocking, Premier League teams do too. As said before, every Premier league team has a financial advantage over Celtic, so any progress that Celtic make is going to be halted by these teams. If he does join though, expect bags and bags of goals. This guy looks like the real deal and one who can more than fill Hooper's shoes. I still question his potential ability to cope with the physical nature of the Scottish game, as it can often frustrate new strikers that come to Celtic (Pukki, for example), but hopefully he can read the game well enough to know how to counteract it.

As a recent university graduate and a huge supporter of Celtic FC, what better way to use my inevitable free time to write about my favourite football team? I'll cover most things that the supporters are talking about at the moment, which includes things that directly and indirectly involve the club. At times I may also stray into matters concerning English clubs.
