Chelsea: 5 Youngsters That Will Shine This Season

2. Andre Schurrle

Schurrle The marquee signing from Jose Mourinho upon his return to Stamford Bridge, German international Andre Schurrle will be one of the youngsters to shine at Chelsea this season. The former Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder penned a deal with The Blues last month worth around £18million, and at 22 their is a great deal of upside to Schurrle. He is an established international at such a young age and has been ever-present in the Bundesliga since the age of 18.He is an attacking minded player who always looks to get a shot off on goal and will be well received at the Bridge in 2013. Jose Mourinho has revealed that Schurrle is well within his plans for the forthcoming EPL season and definitely feels he has the qualities to make a mark on the English game. Goal.com reports that whilst interviewing for club website Mourinho stated that:
"Andre Schurrle is still so young but he already has great history because he plays in his national team, he has played Champions League and he played three complete seasons for Bayer Leverkusen ... He is a player who is absolutely ready and he gives us more than one position in attack and adds quality. He will be important for us"
Certainly, in terms of goal scoring at least, Schurrle can claim that he deserves to be playing week in week out after netting 14 times in 43 appearances for Leverkusen last campaign. Competition is rife for midfield positions at Chelsea but this will see to their rapid development. Schurrle is a perfect fit at Chelsea and is one of the hottest young prospects applying their trade in the English game this season.
