Chelsea Transfer News: Mourinho To Rubbish Barcelona Claims And Offer Juan Mata New Five-Year Deal

Daily Mirror, Jose Mourinho is set to deny rumours that Juan Mata isn't wanted next season and will offer the midfielder a new five-year deal to convince the Spaniard to stay at Stamford Bridge. The 23-year-old has this week been linked with a sensational £30 million move to the Nou Camp after rumours suggested that the midfielder was not in the plans of the returning Blues boss. Recent speculation has hinted that Mourinho will have a huge summer shake up with Mata, David Luiz and Fernando Torres all set to be replaced in the squad by Edinson Cavani, Hulk and Thiago Alcantara. Chelsea are now set to rubbish these rumours by telling Mata he will be a crucial member of the team for next season, although it remains unclear what the situation will be regarding David Luiz and Fernando Torres. The Blues are said to be disappointment with recent attempts to unsettle their players and intend on resolving the issue with Juan Mata as quickly as possible. €˜The Special One€™ is keen to discuss the future of Mata and wants to publically reassure the Chelsea fans that their number 10 will remain at Stamford Bridge. The influential Spaniard had a strong campaign last season becoming a dominant midfield for The Blues. Mata assisted his teammates twelve times in the league as well as scoring 12 Premier League goals himself. Mata was part of the Spain side that crushed Tahiti last night in the Confederations Cup 10-0, with Mata getting on the score sheet, although the real star of the match was his club and country teammate, Fernando Torres, who netted four goals.
