Chelsea Transfer News: Willian Deal Confirmed

reports BBC Sport. The Anzhi Makhachkala player went as far as having a medical at White Hart Lane, but Chelsea swooped on Thursday night, with the 25-year-old Brazilian midfielder reportedly swayed by the prospect of Champions League football. The player will have a medical and a work permit meeting next week before the deal is finalised. The talented Brazilian was a part of the Brazil U-20 side who became South American Youth champions in 2007, and he won the UEFA Cup with previous club Shaktar Donetsk in the Ukraine. He's a long-time Chelsea target, and he comes into a side laden down with attacking midfielders, with Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Oscar, and Kevin De Bruyne all now in competition with the Brazilian midfielder for a starting place. Mourinho confirmed the signing at a press conference. When asked about it, he said:

I know what the player wants, so in this moment we cannot hide
He went on to say:
I'm happy with my squad, but every one of us managers, we say we are happy, but we are always unhappy. We always want something of more quality and we never close the door to the possibility of adding more quality.
The player becomes their third major signing of the summer, after fellow midfielders Kevin De Bruyne and Dutchman Marco Van Ginkel.
