Chelsea Transfers: 5 Best & 5 Worst Ever January Deals

1. Fernando Torres

Signed: 31st January 2011 Fee: A staggering £50,000,000 After impressing the footballing world with his trickery, strength and classic strikers' instinct at Liverpool, Fernando Torres decided to take on a new challenge by joining Chelsea during the 2010/11 season. Every football fan expected him to slot straight into an attacking side and to pick up where he left off by scoring numerous goals, however this was not the case as Torres went a surprising 903 minutes without a goal after making his debut for Chelsea. Since then he has made 52 Premier League appearances with just 14 goals to his name and is often used as a last ditch substitute when there is no one left to turn to. This signing has to go down as one of the biggest flops in Premier League history!
