3. João Moutinho
Another potential 'Frank Lampard replacement' is Porto's João Moutinho. The Portuguese has been a long-term transfer target for London rivals Tottenham Hotspur of late, but with former Blues manager Andre Villas-Boas thus far failing to make any headway in completing the deal, it appears as though Chelsea could steal a march on their rivals by
making an offer. Valued at around £20 million, Moutinho is viewed as the heir apparent to the departing Lampard. A leader both on and off the field, the Portuguese' was named vice-captain of former club Sporting Lisbon at just 19 years old before being named full-time captain of his boyhood club before leaving for Porto. He's a hard working, industrious box-to-box midfielder who is constantly committed to the cause - much like Lampard. The Blues would be hard-pressed to find a better midfielder to fill the gaping void left by the Englishman in the summer and he would also seem to fall into Jose Mourinho's policy of bringing in Portuguese players.
