Chelsea Transfers: 5 La Liga Players Jose Mourinho Would Love To Sign

2. Sami Khedira

Chelsea have already wrapped up the deal for exciting German international Andre Schurrle and now Mourinho could be set to bring one of his fellow compatriots to West London after ear-marking Real Madrid's Sami Khedira as another former player he'd like to sign this summer. Khedira moved to the Bernabeu from Stuttgart in 2010 and has quickly established himself as one of Madrid's most reliable midfielders, having made 44 appearances last season, creating 5 assists and scoring 3 times. He is renowned for his tireless work-rate and has been heralded for his "flawless aerial ability", and could be a long-term successor to Frank Lampard, who has signed a new, one-year extension at the club. He can cover a lot of ground and is capable of playing anywhere in the engine room, known to both recover the ball from a defensive area and quickly join in the team attack with his powerful mid-range shooting. Khedira would likely cost the Blues around £20 million.
