Chelsea Transfers: 5 Strikers Blues Could Sign With £37 Million Juan Mata Fee
3. Hulk
Hulk is a long-term target for Chelsea, and manager Jose Mourinho is plotting a move this month, according to FoxSports. The Blues' interest in Hulk can be dated back to his days at Porto between 2008-12 and a move to London looked to be on the cards until the powerful striker instead wound up at Zenit St Petersburg. That seemed to be the end of the matter, but recent reports suggest the 27-year-old is looking for a way out of the Russian club this month. Hulk has scored nine goals in 14 league appearances for Zenit this season and it may take a bid close to the £50 million Chelsea paid for Fernando Torres for a move to go through. Again, though, the sizable chunk of change received for Mata will offset most of that fee, and now means Chelsea can afford to finally land the forward without falling fowl of financial fair play rules.
