Chelsea Transfers: 5 Strikers Blues Could Sign With £37 Million Juan Mata Fee
2. Diego Costa
Chelsea received a massive boost in their pursuits of the in-demand Diego Costa this week when Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone said the striker is "not indispensable". Those comments suggest the high-flying La Liga side may be willing to listen to offers for Costa this month with Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea all keen on the Brazilian. The South American striker has been in ferocious form of late, netting 19 league goals in just 17 appearances to help Atletico up to second in La Liga. As well as that, Costa has struck 23 goals in 23 total outings, making him one of the single-most coveted forwards in world football. Chelsea will take encouragement from Simeone's comments and have the financial clout to enter the bidding war should Jose Mourinho decide to overhaul his strike force. The capture of Costa would be seen as a ginormous statement of intent by the Blues in the Premier League title race and could well make all the difference come May.
