Chelsea Transfers: 5 Strikers Mourinho Needs To Cure Goal Drought

1. Radamel Falcao

Radamel Falcao could be set for a shock move to the Premier League in January, despite having joined current club Monaco from Atletico Madrid this summer. The Colombian goalmachine is reportedly unhappy with life in France amid claims he is 'only' being paid ‚7 million (£5.8 million) in earnings despite signing up for around ‚14 million (£11 million). Falcao has reportedly asked to be allowed to leave on loan in January with Chelsea lining up a sensational deal to sign him on a temporary basis with a view of making it permanent in the summer. The Blues have been linked with the former Atletico man on a number of occasions, and even made a ‚70 million bid for the dangerman back in 2011. Now, they could be set to make a third offer. Falcao has scored nine Ligue 1 goals in 13 appearances this season and netted 28 times in La Liga in his final season with Atletico to become one of Europe's most feared finishers. However, Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev says the player is not for sale. Any move for Falcao would be certain to smash the British transfer record £50 million Chelsea paid for Fernando Torres in 2011. Do Chelsea need a new striker in January and if so, who should Jose Mourinho sign? Let us know in the comment section, below.
