Chelsea Transfers: 5 Things Didier Drogba Can Still Offer The Blues

4. The Feel-Good Factor

Chelsea fans haven't had a great deal to sing about recently. The club endured a trophy-less season in 2013-14 and are about to enter a fifth year without winning the Barclay's Premier League. Meanwhile, there is a lot of sadness in the stands over the departures of legendary pair Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole, and fans could use a bit of cheer. The return of Didider Drogba would give them just that, with the forward still very much a crowd favourite despite his two-year spell away from west London. When he returned to Stamford Bridge with Galatasaray in the Champions League last season, he received a rapturous reception, proving many still hold him in high regard. At 36, Drogba can only offer Chelsea so much out on the pitch. His best days are in the past, but there's still a lot he can bring the club away from the field of play. His presence alone would give the dressing room some positive energy, and inspiration to go out each week and fight for the badge. Even if he only scores three goals in 15 appearances next season, his impact will still be felt at the club.
