You would be forgiven if you had forgotten about
Chelsea signing this German winger, in a summer when wonder kids Eden Hazard and Oscar joined the club. After spending three seasons at Werder Bremen, where at one point along with Mesut zil and Aaron Hunt he was part of one of the most exciting front lines in the Bundesliga, he never really lived up to his reputation at Stamford Bridge. In his opening season at Chelsea, he only made six league appearances, scoring one goal and he failed to impress.
He has since been loaned out to Sevilla for this season and looks like he won't be seen in a Chelsea shirt again as the Blues strengthened their squad with Willian and André Schürrle.
