Cricket World Cup 2015: 10 Dark Horses To Look Out For

8. Calum MacLeod

Age: 26 Team: Scotland Who: Innovative, eye-catching Saltire batsman. A player who started his professional career as a fast-bowler for Warwickshire before his action was deemed illegal, Calum MacLeod has reinvented himself as an opening batsman. He hit four centuries at the top of the order in 2014 including a massive 175 versus Canada. An innovative and creative batsman who has an array of reverse-sweeps and ramps/scoops in his repertoire, MacLeod was brought to the attention of Durham by Paul Collingwood and was instrumental in helping the Dynamos win the 2014 Royal London One-Day Cup. While his tournament so far has only reaped four runs in two innings, he has shown some form in recent weeks with 41 versus Ireland and an unbeaten century versus a Sydney Grade side. There is still time for the young Gaelic speaker from Lanarkshire to make his mark on this World Cup.
