5. Ronaldo, Unlike Messi, Will Turn Up
Lionel Messi, so often accustomed to being regarded as the best player on the pitch at any given time, was last night the complete opposite and, dare I say it, a contender for the worst player in a Barcelona shirt. The diminutive Argentine had just been brought back from injury, in all fairness, and hadn't played the previous two games after picking up a hamstring injury against Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter finals. There was much speculation that he wouldn't play in the semi-finals as a result and, in a way, he didn't. The Ballon d'Or winner put in an absolutely anonymous display against Bayern Munich and at times you forgot he was even on the pitch. By contrast, expect Cristiano Ronaldo to step up to the mark and deliver tonight. Like Messi is for Barcelona, Ronaldo is Real's most lethal weapon but unlike Messi, the Portuguese is in a fine run of form. He has scored at least one goal in his club's last five games and is well on course to finish as the top goalscorer in this season's Champions League. He will be central to just about every offensive move Real put together tonight, and you should expect him to be the difference between Dortmund and Madrid.
