2. Jordan Rhodes
Widespread reports suggest that prolific Blackburn Rovers and former Huddersfield Town striker Jordan Rhodes is Pulis's top transfer target this winter.
According to the Metro, he will bid £6 million for the 23-year-old Scotland international when the window opens in January. Rhodes has been linked with big moves consistently as he fired the Terriers through the divisions and Rovers to safety in the last campaign. In the Championship his prolific form has continued. Ten of his 38 goals at second tier level have flown in during just 16 matches this season. Pulis knows his existing forward options, including Chamakh, Gayle and 40-year-old Kevin Phillips are struggling to make an impact. The centre forward berth remains a major problem for Palace in the absence of 30-goal top scorer from last term Glenn Murray. A
knee ligament injury picked up in the playoff semi-finals means he will not return to action until the New Year. Pulis cannot afford to take a gamble on Murray continuing his hot form on the other side of this setback. Rhodes will not come to the Eagles cheap, but that is price to pay for a proven track record of finding the net. Even if he can replicate those exploits at Selhurst it may not be enough though. Palace had a prolific frontman Andy Johnson the last time they were in the Premier League. His 25 top flight goals still could not save the club from the drop.
