Crystal Palace: 5 Players Tony Pulis Should Sign To Save Eagles From Relegation

4. Rudolph Austin

Drive from midfield is one major thing the Eagles have been lacking under Ian Holloway and caretaker Keith Millen. A January swoop for combative Jamaican Austin would go a long way to addressing that. The Leeds United captain is more than a midfield destroyer though. He's a player that can impose himself going forward as well. Austin's mobility and strength are assets which would help to supplement the darker arts done by Palace captain Mile Jedinak. If they were paired together in deeper-lying midfield berths it would allow a more attack-minded player to support Marouane Chamakh or Dwight Gayle. Pulis is a known admirer of Austin and tried to sign him for Stoke City in 2008, but was refused a work permit for him then.

3. Craig Bryson

Derby County midfielder Bryson is having his best season to date with six goals and right assists in a box-to-box role. He could be an alternative to Austin or supplement other signings at Selhurst. Rams head coach Steve McClaren is readying himself for a January raid at Pride Park with talented youngster Will Hughes rumoured to be heading to Liverpool. Whilst Pulis and Palace cannot compete for that player's signature, why not move for a member of the supporting cast?
