Crystal Palace New Manager: 5 Candidates To Replace Ian Holloway

Struggling Crystal Palace were thrown into further chaos last night when manager Ian Holloway took the decision to step down from his role "by mutual consent". The former Blackpool boss only joined the London club in November 2012 and guided them into the Championship Play-Offs, where they gained promotion to the Premier League after beating Watford 1-0 at Wembley earlier this summer. However, upon being reinstated in the topflight, Palace have found life difficult after crashing to seven defeats in their first eight games, leaving them second-bottom of the table. The Eagles are now without a win since beating fellow strugglers Sunderland 3-1 on the final day of August and were hammered 4-1 by Fulham in what proved to be Holloway's final game in charge last Monday. That result leaves the club five points adrift of safety, with chairman Steve Parish commenting Holloway's decision to walk away was due to his feelings that "a new approach might help keep us in the division." Parish will now begin the search for a new permanent manager and has suggested Holloway will give his opinion before a successor is named. He also stated the club are looking for someone with topflight experience. And, with that in mind, here, we take a look at 5 Candidates To Replace Ian Holloway.
