5. Peter Crouch
David Davies/PA Archive/Press Association ImagesDespite finishing as Stokes top goal scorer in 2013/14 with 10-goals in 38-appearences, it has been widely rumoured that Peter Crouch could be returning to his former boss, Tony Pulis, at Selhurst Park. Stoke manager Mark Hughes dropped Crouch to the bench in the early stages of last season and is believed to want to replace the 67 forward. Crouchy has a proven goal scoring pedigree in the Premier League and would surely provide all the experience Palace need on the offensive end. Over the years Crouch has demonstrated that he can score goals at whichever team he plays at, even racking up 22 in his 42-appearances in an England shirt. Crouchs height and aerial ability would arguably fit perfectly into the ethos of play at Selhurst Park; the Eagles handful of skilful, pacey wingers would provide the inaptly named striker with the perfect diet of lobbed balls. At 33 years old Crouch is most definitely past his athletic prime, though it must be remembered that he was never a player who particularly relied on his pace. The Stoke forwards height and ability in the air have in no way diminished so he would certainly be an excellent addition in Palaces bid to become an established Premier League team.
