It's also no secret that Qatar will be hosting the World Cup in 2022. By bringing in such a popular and well-known figure in David Beckham, Qatar are doing wonders for its global image ahead of the world's biggest football tournament and at the same time are making sure PSG receive plenty of coverage around the world. Beckham's announcement that he will be donating his salary to a children's charity might appear noble, but let's face it, he can afford it. It is also a gesture that will help ensure that coverage surrounding his move is wholly positive, because we can't be having Qatar look bad now, can we?
