Eden Hazard & 5 Other World Class Players Who Could Join Premier League

5. Jan Vertonghen

Keep in mind, football is not always about the attacking side of the game, it is also about the defensive style of play (Chelsea's Champions League campaign comes to mind). And the most talked about defender among Premier League clubs right now is Ajax's Jan Vertonghen. Mark my words, in a few years from now Belgium will become the Greece of 2008 with players such as Vertonghen, City's Kompany and Chelsea new-boy Hazard, it's a suprise they didn't qualify for the Euro's this year. And Jan Vertonghen who captained Ajaz to another succesful Dutch Eredivisie title, was named the 2012 Dutch footballer of the year due to his amazing defensive displays in the Red and White of Ajax. He's a rock in a heart of a team that really don't scream of world-class calibre essence yet put on quite the show against Manchester United after drawing the Red Devils in the Europa League, and Vertonghen showed signs of injured United captain Nemanja Vidic with his incredible defensive displays. The teams looking into the signature of the defender are London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal with one of them showing real attempts of gaining his services (Spurs) while the other offering Champions League football next term (Arsenal) its hard to know where the Belgian defender will end up. But whomever he ends up at might end this season with a better goal ratio overall than last season. Five world-class footballers who could all end up playing in the Premier League next season. Which signing would make the most impact? Comment with your views on both the picks and what they could offer.
