England: 6 Players Who Need To Be Given A Chance Against Denmark

3. Steven Caulker

steven caulker Former Tottenham defender Steven Caulker had a good debut for England back in November 2012, scoring as England took a 2-1 lead over Sweden. Caulker was substituted with just fifteen minutes to go and England collapsed defensively, going on to lose 4-2 to an, admittedly excellent, performance from Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Since then Caulker, oddly, hasn't been given another chance for the Three Lions. Since joining Cardiff in the summer Caulker has continued to perform impressively, even while the team have been disrupted by crazy decisions from owner Vincent Tan and managerial changes. He even managed to score the winner in the first Premier League Welsh derby against former club Swansea. Since John Terry and Rio Ferdinand were pushed aside in a combination of aging loss of skills and off the pitch controversies, England have struggled to convince in the centre of defence to the extent that there have been implausible demands from fans and pundits to recall one or other of the former stalwarts. Cahill and Jagielka has not been the most solid centre back pairing. With Jagielka missing out on the Denmark game, it is the perfect opportunity for Caulker to make his mark.
