England International 'Asked Micah Richards About Man City'

Fabian Delph asked for advice regarding potential move...

Micah Richards has revealed that Villa captain Fabian Delph has asked about a move to Manchester City, according to BBC Sport. Richards, who made 179 appearances for Man City, joined Villa in pursuit of first-team football and has been asked for advice by Delph as transfer rumours surround the England international, and said:
"James Milner has played six or seven positions and still wanted to leave. "So if he gets assurances he's going to play then the decision is his. I wouldn't say don't go to Manchester City, because if he's playing well he could play. "It's just being given that chance. "To be fair he has asked me what I think about the situation. I told him I can't comment to be honest. "I don't want to say go there and then he doesn't play him - he'll be ringing me up afterwards!"
Despite signing a new contract with Villa in January it was recently reported that a surprisingly low release clause of "around £10 million" was factored into Delph's current deal. With Man City needing to add homegrown players to their squad Delph would be a good midfield addition, particularly as any capture of rumoured target Paul Pogba looks unlikely. Richards' apparent reluctance to approve any potential move might just reassure Villa fans. With the Euro 2016 championships on the horizon, a stay in the Midlands, where he is guaranteed first-team football, may be the most sensible option for Delph.
