England's Euro 2021 Starting XI

4. Jack Grealish - Centre Midfield

Potential candidates: Mason Mount and Dele Alli.

Jack Grealish is one of the most unique players in the Premier League with his ball-carrying ability often brought up when pundits discuss his attributes. The Aston Villa captain has the skills to terrorise any defence in the world. However, his passing ability and work rate are often overlooked. In reality, Grealish is one of the most well-rounded players in the league.

His friendship with fellow midfielder James Maddison can only be good for England. There is hope that their partnership can replicate the success of partnerships like Xavi and Iniesta rather than the always disappointing Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard pairing.

The only thing that would stop Grealish from getting into the first team is the fact that historically England only start players from the 'top six'. However, it's quite likely that the Birmingham native won't be living in Birmingham for too much longer, especially if Villa get relegated this season. Several top clubs are looking at the 24-year-old with Manchester United looking the most likely to sign him.

Grealish's recent problems off the pitch don't take away from what has been a career-defining season for him.
